Legal & Contract Officer

Main Duties
- Liaise with Group Tax, Insurance, Legal and Human Resources with regard to:- Qualification and negotiation of Contracts;
- Reviewing, drafting and updating corporate Contract templates/ forms
- Review and qualify letters of intent/ award; and
- Review, negotiate and draft confidentiality, and other miscellaneous Agreements.
- Perform tender reviews and evaluations to identify potential risks and liabilities and develop mitigation strategies together with the Proposal Coordinator / Project Manager;
- Assist with the preparation of tender documents;
- Assist with commercial rate escalations;
- Provide commercial advice (as required) in all matters concerning the sourcing of external services to ensure maximum benefit and value is provided to the business units;
- Review, prepare and update commercial and contractual policies, processes and procedures;
- Assist project/proposal teams in the tender, negotiation, implementation, administration and execution of projects;
- Provide commercial and contractual support to project teams and assist with variations, change orders, claims, subcontract placement, administration and client correspondence
- Custodian of all contracts/subcontract register and management for proposals and projects.
Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities
- 6 years relevant experience in similar positions, preferably within the energy / mining / construction sector
- Proven commercial and negotiation skills are advantages
- Analytical ability and excellent English communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure with strong attention to detail;
- Work as part of a team and be committed to ongoing business improvement;
- Computer skills competency including Microsoft packages; and
- Ability to achieve agreed deadlines.
